Is my site easy to navigate? - 9/12/2004 21:28:56
This is my first (and only) website and I just updated it in hopes of making it easier to navigate. I'm self-taught and realize that I'm still clueless on so much when it comes to web design. Please give me any suggestions for improvement, this is my home-based business and I really need to make this website as easy for any potential customers to navigate as possible, don't want them to leave out of frustration! The URL is www.barfershoppe.com

I would consider including your left-side links from the home page on all pages. That way a user doesn't have to return to the home page to locate a link they may have seen on the first visit. In other words, if I go to the home page and decide I want to check out veggies and raw bones, I can go straight to raw bones after veggies without having to return to the home page. Make sense? You have done a nice job. Good luck with the site.

ditto above. works fine otherwise. have you got a better quality picture for the homepage? the index.jpg is blurred and low quality - the same picture but good quality would be good!

I originally had the left side links on all pages but I didn't like the way it looked on on the product pages, although I agree it would be more convienent. I would really appreciate any ideas on a less intrusive setup of dept. links that I could use on the product pages. I also agree about the quality the picture on the homepage. This is from a photo that I took myself and scanned. This was the best quality that I could come up with. Maybe I should do some more experimenting, see if I can figure out how to improve it. Thanks for the imput!

Thanks for the input. BARF sounds gross to most people, but its a very common term among us performance dog fanatics. Of course we're the same people who talk about the texture and frequency of our dogs' p--p while dining at fine restaurants and none of us think that thats gross, either!.

Yes, the site is easy to navigate, but the name is enough for me to not want to surf it. Do you have any other options for a name?

maybe lorrie's sensitive cos she has some similarly textured things in her new avatar :) though by the looks of them she could do with a bit more fibre!!

no but all joking aside i guess the name has stuck now and if your customers know it then it's probably best to keep it. My cousin told me about BARF years ago. She was trying to convert my mother to put our dogs on a BARF diet but Mom wouldn't budge. I actually tried looking this up a while ago and was unable to find anything re: the BARF diet for dogs, so I think this is pretty cool.
