Site behaves sluggishly on server - 9/12/2004 21:50:13
Hello, I was redesigning a site for a customer - redoing the entire thing from scratch. While we were developing, I uploaded it to a standard host, and it worked fine. Then I uploaded it to their site, over top of their old website (which also has FP extensions), and it seemed to slow to a crawl. I think it's because there's a lot of old junk on their site, and the server seems to be sifting through it when it gets commands from the user. So I figure that if the server admin could wipe their old site off I could upload it and it would work fine. Does this sound right? Does anyone have any experience with this scenario?

First of all, you should have deleted the old site from the servers before publishing the new one, incase it caused any conflicts in links etc. What I recommend you do, is delete everything on the server, via FP, and then publish the new site again, via FP. If it still doesn't work, post a link and we can take a look Dan
