Can you temporarily disable a Sub Web? - 9/20/2004 11:00:01
Hello everyone.

1st post here, but have been reading for a while, and found a nice few tidbits to put to use.

I'm a bit new to supporting FrontPage webs, and am wondering about the following...

Have a site hosted on a win2k server, and am wondering if it's possible to temporarily take a Sub Web offline? The development folks are working on some of it, and have asked that it be disabled.

My understanding is that you can stop an entire site, or remove the subweb, but can you stop just the subweb from ism?

Thanks very much for your help!!

Kevin

No need to disable it, just password protect the folder so nobody can access it.

Thanks for the reply...

good idea that we could've implemented, but instead, we decided to just redirect traffic to the front page, where there was a notice already posted saying that area of the site was down for a time.
