Java script popup issues - 9/23/2004 20:03:02
Hello all I am trying to make a collage of pictures and when you click on any picture it will automatiaclly popup using a java script that spawns it in its own window the same size as the larger picture. My problem is I want no space between the images I want them all next to each other. When I do this what happens is that all the images use only one link. I don't have a way to get them to keep from using the one link per row of images unless I add spaces. here is my example.

Notice first row of each link

First row is all using same link code
http://dunnphotostudio.com/children2a.html

First row each has its own seprate code for link
http://dunnphotostudio.com/children2a.html

So I need seperate link code for each imgae but with no space inbetween each image.

Thanks X

Firstly can I suggest that you instead of just opening the picture that you open a page that will display the picture and put a no right click option on that page as to make it more difficult for perverts to steal the pictures. I would also put the web page link of the like over the images to help top them being posted on such web sites.

I do not fully understand what your problem is? You say all the pictures in the row are using the same link then all you need to do judging by your code is to make sure that each image has it's own <a href="#">AND</a> tag. There are much better ways this could be done but I will explain later as have gotta go.... might be worth looking at some javascipt sites, just type javascript in google.

aaron if I make it where each image opens in its own page. by hyperlinking each image via fp is there a way to control the size of the page and all the options you get as with useing the java script? So I have it where it only shows the top bar and is relativly the same size as my image?

As for using the javascript it works fine as long as I have one space between each image each image gets its own link but if I put all the images next to each other then the code trys to make each image as one in a row and I can't speicfy a diffrent image to use in the popup..

You can specify a different image to use in the popup if you do it correctly you must be doing something wrong.

i overheard a conversation last night from some fairly savvy net users - not techies..lawyers..but savvy as users. they were discussing right click being blocked and their consensus was it is something the isps are doing and its growing and nothing can be done about it!!! I suspect that we on the forum are far above the average user who is stymied by this.

I'm not sure I believe that one, that would be just plain stupid. What about the poor left handed people out their who have the mouse clicks reversed. :)
