installation problems - 9/24/2004 8:30:24
Hi, I am new to the forum and wanted all to know it is much appreciated. A lot of time and frustration can be saved by using places like this, but then again, there are techies who make a lot of money solving simple problems as well....
I am trying to re-install a copy of Frontpage 2003 and I get an error message
"Waiting for cabinets to be cached to local installation source
F2561406.cab"
Then it asks if this is on another disk drive or diskette. Is this a missing file or is my CD scratched? I have used this same CD to install just recently

Hi John and welcome to OutFront.

Well I had a hunt around and only found one reference to this and it seems that a Microsoft MVP thinks it is to do with a bad CD. The suggestion was to try copying the whole lot onto your hard drive and install it from there.

I have two CDs with Office 2003 on. One runs almost everything before it gets a corrupt cab file. The other one runs almost everything else before it gets a different corrupt cab file. When I'm installing I have to switch between the two when the error appears and that way I can complete the install.

Dontcha love Microsoft!
