Top end performance from a budget graphics card? - 9/24/2004 16:38:47
For those of you frustrated with your performance on Doom3... http://techreport.com/reviews/2004q3/geforce-6600gt/index.x?pg=1 It's only PCI-E right now, AGP supposedly on the way... but the price of this card almost justifies the new mobo to go with it!!

ATI was releasing theirs are $259, but decided to match the GeForce one at $199. Only PCI-E MSRP price, so lets wait and see what we get in November. I am still searching for the Radeon 9800 PRO All-In-Wonder card. So far the lowest price I have seen is $271 shipped.

THe 9800 PRO sells for around $200 now. Add another $71 to that and you can upgrade it to the AIW. I hope this new stream of cards will come out soon, once they do I will be buying the 9800 PRO AIW. $271 is stilll pretty expensive for just a graphics card.
