Site redesigned - 9/28/2004 4:41:48
Hi everyone. I started a thread regarding my first site for a customer and I received quite a bit of feedback, which I have now taken on board and done something about it. I am now re-submitting this site for another beating I would be grateful for any further comments and feedback. Maxims Petfoods Thank you for your time again guys. Drew

I think it's a vast improvement over the first one. Good job. All I can suggest is to make it a little more robust with any key words filling out the text of the pages - try to put a little more info on there. You can tell us some of the history of Maxims, (a paragraph or two). Also, I would put the email link in the left navigation rather than on that one page only.

A better rendition. A few suggestions I have are really only personal preferences, so they may not be worth much. 1) The font you use throughtout is Times Roman, not one of my favorites. I'm curious if that is by design or are you using a font that I don't have and it's picking up my default? I'm a Verdana or Arial guy myself. 2) The Maxims title on the very top is in Arial and doesn't match the store front font in the picture. A quick little gif of that in the proper font wouldn't take up much space. I had a client who insisted that his business name always be in the same font throughout the web site, so that always sticks with me. If you don't have a program to do that I'd be happy to make one if you know that font. 3) I would make the link visited colors a more complimentary set of colors, rather than purple and blue. 4) I would take the Store front photo off of every page and put some photos of, maybe some animals, puppies, kittens, etc on some of the other pages. I'm sure you can find some free stock photos from one of the many web sites that offer that. 5) On the Links page, I would put a brief description of each links, so the visitor can make an informed decsion whether to click on it. 6) Curious why the price list isn't shown in a simple table rather than having to click and load the file. I stopped when I saw that, so I don't know how large it is. But I'd like to see that info immediately, no extra clicks if possible. 7) I'd border the very light orange information boxes in black or dary grey to give them a little contrast. Good luck

So here's what I came up with - a very quickie, in fact it's works on 1024, but I didn't measure it up for 800x600 so it'll scroll in that resolution - but just wanted to see the differences in your rendition and my suggestions. Hope you might get some ideas to keep enhancing your site. DOG CHOW

Drew, The font that I used in the banner and for the buttons is called Unicorn. It's the closest I could find to the store front sign. It may be an exact match, but I couln't quite tell.
