Best day to send out a newsletter - 10/2/2004 9:57:08
I've searched and can't find anything about this, but I'm curious if there are any studies on the best day to mail out a newsletter to subscribers? I've heard Monday isn't a good day because that's when most of the Spam is sent out. Any thoughts on this? Thanks, gail

Wednesday. It's Hump Day, when everybody is getting over the agony of the new work week and getting ready to wind down for the weekend. It's the psychological "fluff" day, when you can take a breather before finishing up the projects that need to be done by the Friday deadlines. People enjoy a little fluff like newsletters - it's still work related, but in a easy kind of way. They'll like to take a few minutes to peruse the newsletter.

You make an excellent point that email is there to be viewed when you want it. Saying that, I do know when I get a huge pile of mail at one time, I'm more apt to delete most it except if I know it's personal or business. I heard most people receive a lot of spam on Mondays (and it seems to be true in my case), so I was just wondering if there if some days are better than others to send out a newsletter. gail

I have found mid week also. For me the rational is Mondays have too many e-mails and things are a rush in general. Friday people just want to get away from work, etc.. I have been told in the past that Wednesday is the day for newsletters. The people I was talking with this about where in the marketing field here locally. They showed me tracking stats that seemed to support this. Now I would like to throw out a catch 22. Your audience. Is it working stiffs Monday - Friday, young adults, pre teens? their habits will differ greatly. They above people also impressed this HEAVILY on me. Take care, Brian
