I never found it to be worth the extra $50 to $100 bucks over a program like PSP. And after getting a criminal deal on Photoshop 6 I've become REALLY spoiled...

:)

(by criminal deal I mean cheap... not illegal... :))

I've used corel draw and corel photopaint for years, I find photopaint to be much more intuitive than photoshop and so far I've been able to do everything I've needed to do with it.

I'm surprised that no one else seems to use it, it's not expensive if you go for one of the older versions (I'm using v.8).

I use PSP because it's the first thing I was introduced to and have never seen a reason to branch off into anything else. :)

Is this a good thing or a bad thing

I dont know but word perfect was the market leader until Novell bought it and screwed it up allowing word to bpass them. Corel's purchase of WP got it back on track although it still puzzles me that given its absolutely = functionality with Word and its low price, Corel hasnt marketed it better. Time will tell

Adding my .02 -- I LOVE 9. My computer crashed and so I downloaded a copy of the 9 beta. I didn't think there was much of a difference but WHOA YES there are subtle little differences... I can do my logos, mess about with the text, etc. more easily and it is much more user friendly.

Definitely download the trial.
