Please help little ol' me - 10/4/2004 13:23:36
I was hired to design a layout for a website. The client decided to listen to his print designer and scrapped my designs and went with the printer's suggestions. Now I have been asked to give my recommendations on their site. I am having such a hard time being "unbiased" in my opinion. Any comments would be oh so greatfully appreciated.

This is a snap of one of my concepts (still in the working phase - I didn't have actual product pictures or hex codes for colours, etc.)

Many many thanks in advance, Jennifer

swallow your pride - it happens. your design is ok but the light blue lettering is hard to see and makes it too blah. on the other one, i Hate ( did i say dislike?) the entry page.... i would move things so i dont have to scroll down for that tiny bit. also, since you link to 3 different style sheets, why are you using font tags?

Thanks for the imput.

I completely agree with the light blue text. As I mentioned it was a work in progress and I hadn't got to any testing stage before my designs were scrapped.

I didn't set up their current style sheet, another person in the company I design for did the css. But I should have thought about the font tags as the client went with his print designers designs and layouts. Thanks for pointing that out.

Jennifer

Jennifer

Darken the blue on your design, cut and code it...and your on the right track...and just abandon the old one:)

Other than that....very nice....

Well....on "their" page, the logo "GreenLube" needs to be remade with antialias on the letters - they're jaggy.

I concur with dpf that the entry page STINKS! YECH!! Yours looks more like a pro designed web page BUT it also doesn't quite fit with the product - I tought it was some kind of lotion or skin moisturizer based on the colors and layout. :/ Their inside page fits the product more...they should scrap the entry page totally and use the interior page (though it does look like a print ad more than a web page...)
