Client Hold? - 10/4/2004 20:24:27
Tucows has placed a "Client Hold" on our computer Club's URL: http://www.myscacc.org

I have been able to contact Tucows 4 hours ago, and they haven't responded. What is "Client Hold"? Who is the client?

Hi Chas,

Have you done any changes to the domain recently?

This should explain it.

jaybee,

Thanks for responding. All is working again. The real reason was that Internet Solutions mailed a bill to the Club. It arrived with three or four other folks trying to rip folks with false notices. The Club President deep-sixed it.

I am changing the set up to have our hosting company handle it in the future.

Ouch, Tell your president that he ought to check it out with you before just dumping stuff. You could have had the domain released and then it costs a fortune to get it back, that's assuming you haven't left it so long that someone else has grabbed it.

jaybee,

The computer club's classroom and open lab room has the club's web site as the home page in all browsers. I found out quickly!
