I have a very basic question. I've never posted to anything like this before, and so don't really know the protocol. In any case, my question is probaby very simply. I don't know who else to ask. My wife and I have only just learned how to use FrontPage, having created a homepage for our small family (twin sons). It's nothing big or flashy, and my grasp of FrontPage is still rather tenuous, so this question may seem basic. By the way, I'm using Yahoo Web Hosting. At any rate my question is this: I want to know how I can prevent from losing my entire web/website if my computer crashes. My computer's CD drive is not read/writable, but I do have a high-speed internet connection. But the computer is old, and on it's last legs. Is there some way that I could perhaps NOT lose everything if my computer crashes? If I understand it right, my ENTIRE website is saved on my computer every time I make changes and publish it to Yahoo Web Hosting. Isn't that right? Or does anyone know if Yahoo would be able to "resend" me the entire web if my computer crashes? (If such a thing is possible?) Or could I somehow email to myself the entire web every once in a while to make sure it's "backed up." If anyone could advise me on this, my wife and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Welcome to Outfront, Blano. This is a great place to ask questions - beginners and not so beginners. First of all, when you create your site on FP on your computer, you save your files to your hard drive, right? and you also publish them to your yahoo server/site. Therefore, it exists 2 places. You dont have a cd burner but you do have a 3.5 floppy dont you? You can copy the files to the floppy for additional safety/backup. As far as losing all your local files and retrieving them from yahoo, yes that is something you could do itf that occurred. If so, members here would guide you (painlessly) thru it but we highly recommend local back up so I think the 3 1/2 floppy is where you start. Does that help?

Just a note... Copying the files to the floppy will not keep the FP components and such "in-tact" To do that they must be published... You could try to publish to the A: drive (I've never tried so I don't know what will happen) Or, if you get a CD-burner, format a disk to "drag-n-drop" and you can publish directly to it for a backup. Another thing to try is to compress the directory first (put your entire site file into a .zip file) and then save it to the floppy... In some cases this "freezes" the timestamp on the files and Frontpage may not realize that they were ever copied to a floppy and back...
