Resizing Photos - 3/8/2001 22:15:00
Hi Folks

I probably know the answer to this already, but! Just in case one of the Wizards here may have a trick available.

Is there any program that can enlarge a photo without creating the pixelization that occurs when this is done?

I have some files of old photos that I would like to include on a web page but they are way to small. Some were originally taken with a digital camera and some were scanned in. Unfortunately the original photos are no longer available for rescanning.

Besides using one of the photo specific programs, PSP7 has some pretty good photo repair and enhance features.
I was able to clean up some old photos of my kids, red eyes and all.
There skin color came out great after the resize with very little effort.

Joe, have you *tried* enlarging them? Are they really nasty when you do?

I ask, because Image Composer does a really good job on this, and I would assume that the "higher" progs...PS and PSP would do this as well.

I just did a couple so that I wouldn't be *lying* to you...an old b&w photo and a digital colour pic...blew them up about 300% and they looked surprisingly okay.

I suppose it also may depend on the picture.

Thank You both very much for the tips. I just purchased PSP7 and just need to learn it's 10,000 functions.

I had been simply dragging the edges of the pictures to a larger size.
