Anyone have XP & Printer Issues? - 10/19/2004 11:03:21
I have a Xerox Tektronix Phaser 740 and I cannot print with XP -- the Com1 port just sits there and does nothing but lock up the program I was trying to print and there is not LPT1 port on this new XP machine. I just want to cry! :)

Anyone have problems? I see lots of posts on the internet, but none of them have helped me thus far and Xerox phone support is $25 for them to tell me it is a Windows XP issue and to have someone come look at it. :(

Summer, what machine have you got? Should have shipped with a printer port.

If not, you might be able to pick up a parallel card. Make sure it's the right sort and check you have spare slots first.

The printer port is a COM1 port. I also have ethernet, serial and parallel ports as options on the printer.

I have a custom built computer -- everything else works just fine :(

This should solve your problem. I'm assuming you have USB.
