WIP - colors, style, layout, etc. - 10/20/2004 10:09:49
Take a look and let me know how everything looks -- colors, style, layout, etc.

What do you think of the logo? I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on this and need to wrap it up in the next 2-1/2 hours while kids are at school.

THANKS IN ADVANCE wonderful outfront people :)

I love the layout and the colors...though I'm not sure of the logo. I like the concept of the logo - but the lady looks nude. Not quite my idea of a work at home mom. Maybe if it were a different drawing of a woman reaching for that star....actually what bothers me is the line that shows the breast....that's what gives it that nude aura.

lol -- my husband wanted the breast -- it was a clipart of a guy and he thought it needed to be more womanly. Teach me to listen to him!

Ahhhh, I thought it was a bit odd and then I checked it in IE.

I was about to say don't like so much white space at the top and why have you got half your faq link there.

:)

That's what it looks like in Firefox.

In IE, I think I'd like a bit more white space between the top line and the banner.

Otherwise very nice.

I don't know...I'll wait and see what others think...to me it still says something other than working at home...with a title of "fulfilled moms" ....it just looks sensual to me. It's very very pretty - but just not sure if I like it with a work at home site...?? but that could just be me....

I quite like the logo, but now that peppergal has pointed out that it may not suit the business i'm maybe thinking that too. Maybe it's more a beauty, fitness or wellbeing logo, but for the life of me i can't think of something as simple as that logo that'd fit with what this business is.

Maybe she could be reaching for a dollar bill instead of a star? lol. Guess i'll keep thinking about it.

Nicole

p.s. you two are lucky your husbands at least have some creativity, or at least some constructive ideas. Mine just tells me everything looks great! "sigh"

how about a man doing the ironing. That'd be pretty fulfilling for me :)

It's a common misconception that men are no good at ironing.
Generally women are faster but men do a much better job.

One of the product ranges I sell is high quality ironing products and we have learnt by bitter experience that for demonstration purposes men are usually far superior at getting the best out of the product.

When it comes to sales of our top of the range £450($822) ironing boards (where we direct despatch on behalf of our mail order and on-line retailers so we know where they go to) around 70% of the sales are addressed to men.

Methinks they dost protesteth too much! :)

1. That's because they hold the purse strings

2. It's because they think a new iron is a perfect birthday present for the little woman

3. It's because they think if they buy a new iron it'll miraculously do it all for them while they're not looking.

:):):)

Oh, and in the case of number 2...... don't even think about it.

lol -- my husband does his own because that way, when I am not anal retentive enough at the job, he can't blame me. I work full time at home, take care of the kids (baths, etc.) cook all meals, clean the house and do all laundry, so really, his jobs include going to work, ironing his uniform once I wash it, and keeping misc junk off of the mantle.

Okay, off the design topic, since we are off anyway at this point...

Does this cost estimator make sense?

It's your thread, you can do what you like with it.

Your estimator looks great but it would make more sense to me if I understood exactly what fulfilled moms does. Are they storing and fulfilling orders on behalf of homeworkers?

Ahhh, now there's a subject for the Lounge. I shall post it immediately.

The website is for a company that will stock your inventory, ship your orders and provide customer service (so all you have to do is market your business and order supplies).

OK, so now the space estimate makes sense.

Yes the form is great.

I think it looks great.

i did notice a couple of things though.
i am using Opera

1. on the faq page, the mouse-over on the paragraph headings causes a shift in the paragraph.

2. on the terms page, the side menu is way down the page.

3. it might be just me, but without a more prominant page name i feel lost. i like the page name to match the menu. ie i select "Terms" on the side menu, but the page name is "Fulfilled Moms Terms & Conditions of Use"

minor stuff
like i said, it looks great

skip

ps. on the men/ironing thing, i don't buy anything that would wrinkle :)
