Saving a page online - 10/20/2004 10:20:13
Hi Folks!

I have a website and used FP97 to design it. Following a major computer crash I had to format my hard drive and reinstall everything including upgrading to FP2002 / WinXP. I don't have a copy of the web pages on my hard drive but I can log on and see them. I can also see them "live" as it were through my browser.

My problem is that I can't save them if I edit them. It goes through the motions of saving but seems to hang for a minute or more then comes back with an error message that says the host unexpectedly closed the connection.

I have spoken to my hosts and they can edit and save the pages and there is nothing wrong at their end.

I have tried saving from my other machine (also running FP2002) to no avail.

I have searched the Office help pages for ages but I can't find my problem listed. I have also updated my FP software from the MS site.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...
jaybee

Get an FTP client and pull the files back down onto your machine.

Mod them then try and publish them back up using FP.

Can you not just get the source code via the browser (Right click/view source type affair) & create a new page with the old code & save over the old page with the new one?
