I had the XP SP2 installed on my box, and IE has totally freaked out. I cannot test any javascript things or anything even remotely active. e.g. it doesn't like links using javascript to open in new windows, it doesn't like anything that changes the status bar message, and it doesn't like image rollovers or menus or whatver. you name it, IE hates it. But Firefox has no problems...

SP2 is a pretty radical update and heavily linked to IE.
Go look in the new Security Centre that has appeared in Control panel and check out your settings. Also check out the firewall stuff and turn it off if you're running your own.

Turn it off ONLY if you have a router/firewall or another strong software firewall. With a software firewall, you must turn the Windows Firewall off.
I have no problem with the new Windows Firewall turned on behind a router/firewall,while networking to another computer.
