Multiple FP Themes under one domain - 4/11/2001 14:24:00
I am trying to use multiple web sites under one domain name each with a different Front Page Theme. EG: www.mydomain.com has a front page theme on it and www.mydomain.com/anothersite/ has another theme on it.

Both site were created on separate computers and published separately.

The first site published (www.mydomain.com) worked fine. I then published mydomain.com/another site/ It worked fine, but mydomain.com had all it's navigation structures screwed up.

How can I have multiple sites under one domain each running a theme?

On each page you will need to Format > Theme > Selected Pages > and apply the theme you wish to display on that page.

I have applied the themes successfully to my sites (locally), but it is when the sites are published the problems start.

In www.mydomain.com is a folder called _themes (including a file called themes.inf) which contains info for the theme located in www.mydomain.com/anothersite/. These theme files screw up the main front page web located at www.mydomain.com.

It looks like this _themes directory controls the theme used within this site. How do I tell Front Page that there are 2 different themes used here?

Do I have to use subwebs?

Use subwebs. I don't know how you could possibly have two separate sites under one domain any other way.

When you publish each of these subwebs, publish only to that subweb folder.

Be sure to create a default home page that will allow people to choose between the two subwebs.

Yes - you have to convert your other two web folders to subwebs for them to take on properties of their own.
