Search Failure - Error #70011 - 10/28/2004 13:53:23
We're running Microsoft Index Server on a server running Windows 2000 and FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions. We installed the standalone extensions without SharePoint Team Services but did activate SharePoint Timer Service so that metrics would run.

A user set up a basic search form in his virtual site. When he executes it, it produces this error in the browser:

FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details.

The application event log contains a pair of warnings. The first:

Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
http://xxx.yyy.zzz.ca - Error #70011 Message: The required parameter "serverbinding" was not found in the "info" section of the "CIMntfy\CIMntfy.inf" configuration file.

The second is the same except the configuration file is "CPQNiMgt.inf\CPQNiMgt.inf".

This happens in all the virtual sites. However, search forms work properly if run from the root web or its subwebs.

I've searched the net for information on this error but have come up empty. Does anyone know what's causing it and how to fix it?

Was able to fix this with the following actions (for each affected site):

  • Check Server Health
  • Stop then Start
  • Recalc
