Renewing IP Address problems - 11/2/2004 22:45:50
I am working on a laptop here running Windows 2K that won't connect to the internet. When the network adapter and cord are plugged in, the network shows up. When I try to release and renew, I get the error "all adapters bound to dhcp do not have dhcp addresses. The addresses were automatically configutred and cannot be relased." I read it might be a bad NIC so I used a different adapter, same results. So how do I get this laptop a new IP address?

Is this adaptor definitely using DHCP? Check the properties tab for the connectino to ensure it is set to DHCP and post back... cheers Calum
