Printing graphics - 6/13/2001 19:23:00
I have created a logo for a client in PhotoShop and they love it online. The problem is that if you try to print it, the logo becomes pixelated. They are putting it on forms in MS Word. Is there a different format I should save it in or do I need to create it in another program? Thanks for your help, Mark

We run a graphic design business with most work being printed and our primary tool is photoshop so there is no problem there. Did you design the logo for web? Most likely, the issue is the resolution. For real good output I'd be working with a resolution of 300dpi for print work. For the web its more like 72-75. Unfortunately, if you created it at the lower dpi you'll have to recreate it at a higher one. Anytime I create logo's for a customer or site, I always create the master psd at a high resolution. It's simple to save it as a jpg or gif at a low resolution but your in trouble when you need to go the other way.

Gary,Thanks for your help. I believe you are correct in the fact that I created it as a web image to start with. Thanks again, Mark
