Photoshop 7-How to use texture as a paintbrush - 11/11/2004 6:45:17
Problem Summary: In Photoshop 7.0, I want to paint a fairly transparent sandy texture (note, not just a sandy colour) over a computer shape, so I can still see the computer shape and computer tonal changes beneath the sand. Is this possible? Problem Background: I'm a Photoshop beginner. My texture image is sand on the beach at 150 dpi. The image will go onto an A3 printed poster. Many thanks for considering this question! spinningjennie

Giomanach, Thankyou very much for your advice, which was extremely useful. PhotoShop 7 worked very similarly to your description. My sincere apologies for the delay in thanking you. Work & family issues have distracted me. In case it helps others, as an alternative, I also discovered another way that works well too. I created a new layer with a sand texture, then changed the opacity and fill of that sand layer in the layer palette to 80%. Below the sand layer was my computer which could be seen beneath the sand. Thanks again!!
