[FrontPage Save Results Component] - 11/11/2004 22:51:27
My web "guru" says there is noway to remove this from the Contact form page: [FrontPage Save Results Component]. I don't see why not. I rarely see this on other contact forms and assume it also someone like us who doesn't know why it's there or how to remove it. Ideas?

1) Are the FPSE installed on the server?
2) Did you FTP or Publish the page?
3) Are the FPSE on the server enabled?

Three simple questions, they always need answering in situations like this:)

Hi Scotty,

As Dan mentioned, you need the extensions installed on the server and turned on as well as avoiding FTP to transfer your form page to the server.

In addition, sometimes form properties settings can trigger this. A URL for your form page might be helpful.

Here's the page in question.

I didn't realize that your shouldn't ftp a "form". Do you have to publish it?
Dan; I'm fairly certain the fpse is installed and activated on the server as this has been going on for years.
Although It's only a minor annoyance, it will be good to get it fixed.

Scotty,,

The FrontPage Reply Form is a Component which requires it to be published against a host server wirh FPSE installed.

Checking Here will verify FPSE are not installed on your site. Note: Extensions, once in place and working properly, can be corrupted by subsequent FTP.

Larry M; I ran the test and it says the server extensions are installed. How did you end up with not installed?

Hi Scotty,

Once you are sure the extensions are in place, take a look at your form properties.

First, make sure the file you use is located in the _private folder. Generally this would be a .txt or .csv file. One of the simplest ways to go is with .txt

To create a custom file, open a blank Notepad, name it whatever and save it to the _private folder of the current web.

I would also recommend changing to Formatted text for both the file and your email results.

You might also want to add a simple thank you page to use as your confirmation page.

Larry - If the web server does not disclose ID..then it will show as no FPSE installed - Web Server fact :)

Scotty - I still have previous emails between ourselves from when you asked for advice on what direction to take next on the web, did everything go alright?

Can you let us konw if you are FTPing or Publishing the files to the server?

And follow Michaels' instructions:)
