Take a break--see a sunset - 6/17/2001 20:08:00
Shot these just outside the door to our 911 center this evening as thunderstorms were bubbling up all around.http://www.members.tripod.com/nowlkldy/sunsets.htm Dave

I half expected to see one of those somewhat famous Kansas twisters. I just love living in the wide open spaces where we can see the sky forever! Nice pictures Dave.Follow the yellow brick road!! Hi Dave,Thanks for the pics. Nebraska and Kansas do have beautiful skies - don't they? Even when they are stormy skies. I took a little time to read your bio and noticed that you played sandlot baseball. What a hoot! There's a movie titled The Sandlot that has made my top five list. Have you seen it? Takes you back. You don't have to love baseball to love the movie. You simply have to remember being a kid in a time when we could ride our bikes all over town without fear of abduction. And when a gang of kids was not a bad thing. It's especially touching if at some point in your life you allowed a mean dog to dictate which street you rode down. Anyway - it's just fun. I was a total tomboy and enjoyed building forts and tree houses. I also played alot of baseball and was always in a pickle - both on field and off. Thanks gang. And Marr, everything you say is so true. Haven't seen the movie but there was the mean dog--and the grouchy old lady who wouldn't let us ride our bikes on "her" sidewalk. Remember goatheads? Those sandburr things with about three needle like points on them. Sliding into home and embedding one of those things in your leg was fun. Are you sure you're not Jean Ann?? We didn't call them goatheads - but I remember them. Some of the fields I played on were of such poor quality that you really had to think about it. Just how important is it to get on the bag right now because I am going to walk funny for a week if I do? Rent the movie - you'll really enjoy it. Marr
