As Spooky says, does your ISP allow for Static IPs? have you registered your IP address with a domain Registrar? Have you got your name servers set-up? Giomanach Posts: 6136 Joined: 11/19/2003 From: England Status: offline	RE: My Very Own Hosting - 11/28/2004 10:06:31 You will need`: 1) A Server Operating System (windoze 2k Serve family, Windoze 2k3 Server, Linux) 2) A Static IP Address 3) You're host to allow you th bandwidth needs 4) Setup NameServers 5) Register the IP Address of the servre, and the name servers, with a Domain Registrar 6) Purhase A Domain 7) Maintain the server On the server, you will need web server software, a very good firewall, AV systems. In the long run, it would cost you less to get someone else to host it rather than do it yourself _____________________________ (in reply to Bloatedfish)
