Does your ISP provide you with a static IP address and allow you to host your own site as part of the user agreement?

Have you set up DNS?
Does your ISP allow for the large amount of bandwidth needed?
As Spooky says, does your ISP allow for Static IPs?
have you registered your IP address with a domain Registrar?
Have you got your name servers set-up?

There's a lot more questions than that, and those are the basic ones

Do you know what any of the above questions relate to?

I'm afraid I'm finding it hard to believe you managed to get all IP & DNS needs sorted within 48 hours...

You will need`:

1) A Server Operating System (windoze 2k Serve family, Windoze 2k3 Server, Linux)
2) A Static IP Address
3) You're host to allow you th bandwidth needs
4) Setup NameServers
5) Register the IP Address of the servre, and the name servers, with a Domain Registrar
6) Purhase A Domain
7) Maintain the server

On the server, you will need web server software, a very good firewall, AV systems.

In the long run, it would cost you less to get someone else to host it rather than do it yourself
