zuberx6 -> Frontpage publish error (11/25/2004 12:29:25)

server error cannot close calendar.htm.tmp if I choose to ignore this file it just comes up on the next one no I don't have a backup of it I thought It would revert if I used the XP restore but it doesn't affect this program. Should I delete the whole website then import it from the web? I was deleting old picture files and I think I deleted some photo folder I shouldn't have.

Hi zub,

Your server will be able to tell if you deleted a vital file or not. They will also be able to tell you why they cannot close the calender.

You shouldn't have to delete the website or import it. You should only have to republish the file that you deleted. Contact your server and check with them first.

Zub,

On the host side, the .tmp error sometimes occurs during publishing when space allocation has been exceeded. Your control panel setting may indicate this or you may have to contact technical support to find out. If you have a lot of old files, it may be best to have the site reset as long as you have a good local backup..

On your side, (1) clear your cache and (2) perform a file *.tmp search and delete all of them in your FrontPage web files subdirectory. After that load FrontPage, load the site, recalculate hyperlinks and try publishing again.

Hope this works!

I checked my control panel on the website and I am at 100% disk allocation I tried to go into the manage files but it won't let permantly delete files I need to tech. support to do that but i can't get a reply from them in three days now. But, I think you guys solved what the problem was!

Thanks
Chet

I dont know the answer but Larry might. can you use FP to delete these files???? via publish or other?

Giomanach -> RE: Frontpage publish error (12/3/2004 10:08:09)

FTP in....and delete them that way, online control panels have trash cans, which require free disc space...FTP clients don't
