in-line pages & SEO - 11/26/2004 8:02:14
Hi everyone,

We have an established web site operation which gets very good rankings on Google and other SE - http://www.landlordZONE.co.uk (&.com)

We want to go over to database operation for the ads on the site so we can have more automatic control - rotating ads, zoning and click tracking etc - this will be using MySQL and PHP based on - http://phpadsnew.com/two/

Up to now I've been using included pages on ForntPage 2003 for the ads, which is fine but to change the ads each individual page has to be up-loaded as well as the included page. In other words it's not possible to automatically change the ads.

One way round this may be to use in-line pages, but from what I read this may then start to affect our page rankings on Google?

Can anyone suggest the best way to achieve this without affecting our high rankings?

Regards, Tom

Welcome to OutFront Rental!!!

I'm sorry, I'm confused. It states here
http://phpadsnew.com/two/features.html
that you can use a SQL DB to store the ads for rotation. Why use includes?

" Banners can be delivered by using different types of invocation codes, including JavaScript, Iframes and PHP. It is even possible to use XML-RPC which allows you to integrate phpAdsNew with other server architectures or applictions."

I would use PHP or XML as JS can be disabled and iframe support is great in new browsers however older browsers might have issues. Depends on your target audience I guess.

Take care,

Brian
