screen resolutions and the women who love them... - 8/24/2001 23:56:00
how can i tweak a picture to show up the same way in different screen resolutions. the ones i'm primarily concerned with are 1024x768 and 800x600 (which is the default for most of our viewers).

my problem: i created the web page (http://www.austinweddings.com/ausdemo) with 1024x768 resolution, so the page comes up very huge in 800x600 mode. yet i saw the Seattle Mariners site and saw that the page, while a little bigger in 800x600, still exempted one from having to scroll left to right. i'm sure there are many others that are this way, but i don't know how to do it...

help! drowning in...own...ignorance...

Hello Joshua,

The good news is you can stop scrolling left to right by setting your tables to percentages instead of pixels.

The bad news is it will take a bit of tweeking. To make a long story short the seattle site has that image set as the tables background image so it will conform to different resolutions.

Youll need to do the same if you keep the current layout and you will also need to mess around with your links.

Hope that gets you on the right track.
