drop shadows - 8/31/2001 20:17:00

HI-I am using PSP 7.0 to work on my logo and some product pics. Even though I have used PSP for a long time I have never figured out the drop shadow thing. I have a jpeg or gif of say a bag of cracker jacks on a white background. I want to put a shadow behind the image. Same thing with my logo. Could someone please explain how to do this?

Hi Shannon,

Before you can apply the drop shadow, even to an item with a white background, first you have to remove the white background. I work on Photoshop myself, but I'm sure there is a selection tool that will allow you to select and delete the background.

In photoshop, I would use the majic wand to select the white background, then delete it. Then you would need to clean the edges up if necessary befor applying the drop shadow.
