Creating Templates - 9/4/2001 20:36:00
I've purchased a few templates from this site as well as other tools from other FrontPage sites. and I
m realy interested in just diving in and creating my own templates. Where is a good place to start? What program would you recommend? what I'm looking for is a "how to" on building templates/themes.

Troy - I'm guessing that someone meant to delete a different (rude) post and accidently zapped yours. Please forgive us and post again!

Mark - you might check www.paulsfrontpagethemes.com for some info on this. Troy probably has some good tips, too. You might visit his site to see if there's some info there, while waiting for his reply to this. (so very sorry, Troy!)

Linda

Argg,

It was long too. Ok here it goes again. Mark if you want to start simple you can create templates by setting cells with colors. These are normally called html style templates.

If your looking to design templates that use graphics, your gonna need an image editor. I prefer Photoshop but many here like to use Paint Shop Pro. Its a little easier to use not to mention much less expensive.

You first create the graphics and once you do that you can slice up the image you've created and then import it into an html editor like FrontPage.

You'll have a lot of work in front of you but http://www.designsbymark.com is a great place to start learning. Oh yeah, my site probably wouldnt be a bad idea either.

Thanks,

Yes, I've spent hours at designsbymark.com. Its a great start for beginners. Here's a little warning.

Beware of his forums. They are filled with testosterone filled graphic junkies who give the word impolite a new meaning.
