Anyone dealt with/heard of - Trojan horse Clicker.BG - 11/30/2004 23:43:07
I got a friend who "has" this on her system, AV won't kill it, Spyware no luck either. I Googled it but only got foreign webpages relating to it. "whatever it is and my AV wont get rid of it. neither of them will delete it. adaware, spybot and webroot dont even detect it " So, anyone got anything they care to share?

Specific thread in forum dated 29/11/2004 : http://www.bullguard.com/forum/10/Trojan-ClickerBG---Help-please_5633.html More generic info:- From: http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/trojclik.shtml NAME: Trojan-Clicker ALIAS: Trojan Clicker, Trojan-Clicker Summary Trojan Clicker (generic description) Trojan Clicker is a trojan that remains resident in Windows memory and constantly tries to connect to certain websites on Internet. This is done to fake visit counters for certain pages in order to earn more money for displaying ads on these pages. ... Manual Disinfection To manually disinfect standalone malware (backdoors, worms, trojans, etc.) it's usually enough to delete all infected files from a computer and to restart it. Active malware files are usually locked by operating system so different disinfection approaches are required for different operating systems. Please note that manual disinfection is a risky process, so it is recommended only for advanced users. Further system specific guidance is given, if you don't want to use removal tools. clicker BG I got that one when I upgraded my AVG antivirus to free version 7 and put in the update. Trojan checkers couldn't find it, Panda couldn't find it. So what I did was unload avg7 and put avg6 in with all its updates and ran that...it found nothing. So i reinstalled 7 but no update....lo and behold no trojan. So trojan is possibly in the update. I informed sales of AVG cause there is no other contact that I could see and hope they will check it out. For now, no updates for me. Thats all I know.
