Giomanach -> Quake Graphics Engine (12/1/2004 15:49:54)

Gamers will most likely be bale to help me with this....

I have three games currently installed on my PC that rely on the Quake Engine to display the graphics, these being Half Life(1), Quake III Arena, Medal Of Honor Allied Assault.

Half Life loads fine....no problems at all, the problem is with the other two. MOHAA has a No-CD Crack on it, but has worked previous to this....Quake III Arena doesn't need No-CD Crack as I have a full install of it. I always run full installs to speed up gameplay, and drop reliance omn the CD.

I'm lazy and like to use No-CDs when playing games...as fishing through 50+ game sin DVD cases isn't much fun, and I like to play games when i want...not when the CD drive is ready.

On both Quake and MOHAA, I get OpenGL errors on loading:

MOHAA:

Both games have worked previously, with and without the CD cracks on.

I reloaded PC about month, month and a half ago, (took out 20GB and replaced with 80GB, other 60GB was made into another PC...), both games worked fine then.

Any Ideas on what I can do to get them running?

The Unreal and Doom Engine run fine (have UT GOTY Edition and Doom II installed as well)

If you wanna see the total list of what I have installed, just ask, I have no shame of showing what i have on this piece of junk =)

TIA

Have you checked for driver updates and such..?

I would try uninstalling them and run from CD, just to test.

If you have trouble getting them to run as a full install, try Alcohol 120%

First thing I tried...

Already done so...

i think I'll try CloneCD as an alternate....never did like Alco120...

Seems strange that they would stop working all of a sudden...

Must be one of your many reg hacks messing with you... [:D]

Have you tried any of them on a Linux box? OpenGL support might be a bit different, at least worth a shot..?

Giomanach -> RE: Quake Graphics Engine (12/1/2004 17:00:39)

I only have UT2004 for linux...the rest or Windoze based games...and UT2004 runs perfectly with no-cd (or dvd for that fact) crack on both windoze and Feddy....[:D]

And it's not my reg hacks...lol...I rarely play with the registry...I play with the executables....[:D]

it closes off more security holes than the registry...and allows for the start menu I'll show in another thread[;)]
