printing pages out - 9/19/2001 15:37:00
I find it easier to print hard copies out for my clients and review pages that way, and they like to keep the pages also, and examine them some more.

The problem is printing them out. I know how to enable my browser to print backgrounds. And supposedly I can set the print setup to "scale to fit" - but that just isn't happening. It looks as if I am safe with a traditional 640 wide page to print out on a 8 1/2 wide paper - otherwise anything wider than that is getting cut off. I can do a print screen and paste it together in my art program - but that sure is a lot of fiddling around. Anyone out there have a good tip????

I think using ALT+Print Screen and printing off individual or combined images is going to give you the best result.

But with alt+print screen you only get the current screen shot, and have to keep taking screen shots and have to assemble the images together in an art program. I was hoping for an easier solution.

This program may be of use to you. I think you can download a free trial.

Tressa,

You might go through all your print settings. I don't very often print pages, but just did a test.

I printed out a page, to include background and images. On the screen, my resolution is set to 1024, and tables to 100%.

It printed out just fine on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper in portrait mode. Nothing was chopped off. So I would guess you just need to look some more through your options/settings.

I FEEL REALLY ENLIGHTENED!

First of all, Patti - I tried snagit - couldn't get it to work in FP 2000 preview window to horizontal scroll, but it works in my browser window...can do a screen-capture both horizontally and vertically and condenses it all to fit on a standard piece of paper. I am on trial right now, but they would like $40 to register...

Nancy - I have never ONCE thought to resize my screen...do you know I can see all of the frontpage forum now? Remarkable!
Anyway - I do enable backgrounds to print, but it did not work with this site of mine: www.guyerrealestate.com
The main page prints out fine, then there is a link to a second page "The Brick City Inn" that will not print out without being chopped off of the right side. I probably have the table set at 650-700 pixels - no percents...Wondering what your thoughts are on that...
