Hey Aaron,

Looks simple enough. The file path is pointing to the C drive.

C:\My Documents\My Webs\_private\form_results.txt

It needs to be this: _private/form_results.txt

Don't just remove the extra stuff, since this is a local file path, it uses backslashes instead of forward slashes. Replace the whole thing with the red one. Make sure to check under File results to make sure they match. You might also change the file results to Formatted text. Republish and it should work.

Ok, I did everything you said, and now I get this:

"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page

You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.
Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page."

I am in the process of contacting IPage to make sure Extensions are turned on. Is this what I would get if they are not turned on? I will let you know what they say.

Hey Aaron,

The "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page" message is an indication that the extensions either aren't installed or have become corrupt.

This particular message only appears when the extensions aren't present.

Reminder, don't use FTP to transfer the form page or any other component page as this will corrupt the extensions.

I heard back from IPage, and here is what they told me to do:
"1. Open your Web in FrontPage.
2. In the folder list, expand the _private folder that is in the root of
your Web site.
3. Locate the Feedback.txt file. If you cannot locate this file, follow
these steps:
a. On the File menu, click New, and then click Page or Web.
The task pane opens.
b. Under New from template, click Page Templates.
c. On the General tab, click Normal Page, and then click OK.
d. Switch to HTML view, and then delete all the HTML code.
e. On the File menu, click Save.
f. Locate and then double-click the _private folder that is in the root of
your Web.
g. In the Save as type box, click All Files (*.*).
h. In the File name box, type Feedback.txt.
i. Click Save.
4. Open the page that contains the feedback form.
5. Right-click the form, and then click Form Properties.
Note that the File name field shows that the results will be saved to the
relative path of _private/Feedback.txt, which does not exist. (For
example, if you saved the feedback page to a subfolder named Test in the
root of your Web site, this path is /Test/_private/Feedback.txt.)
6. Click Browse.
7. Locate and then double-click the _private folder that is in the root of
your Web.
8. Click the Feedback.txt file, and then click OK.
9. Save the form page."

I did all this, but I still get the same error. I have emailed them again asking if entensions were on, and if they weren't, to please turn them on. I will let you know what they say. http://www.fatboysracingstore.com/test8.htm

You make a good point...I just checked CJB...(I used to use them when one was a script kiddie...)...and they still only offer Free URL Redirection, and as far as can be told, Tera-Byte hosting is a third party company...

They may have altered their ways of URL Redirection, as you view source, and there is no longer any frames in use...

Running a FPSE check from an external source on a Redirection URL would return as no server....(hence the no ID disclosed)...

Hi...been away for a bit.

I have my computer in my home, and accessed via my Cable Internet service - Sunflower.com, and as you noticed, I use CJB to redirect to my server.

My install of IE and FP extensions is entirely fresh; and this hosting server is brand new; and this problem wsa on the old server as well as this one. The content and form, was published from the same source on both servers.

Sounds like maybe you think my hosting may be the problem.

If I can provide any other information I'll be glad to do so.

Hi Aaron,

I just did a blank submit and it took me to the thank you page. It seems to be working now. Just did another with AMysticWeb as First Name and once again was taken to the confirmation page. Seems to be a working form. Let me know if you got the email.

You may need to empty your browser cache to be sure you are viewing the newly published page.

Thanks for all your help. When I emailed IPage, they said the Extensions were off, and when they turned them on, everything worked fine. Also, I got your test form. I couldn't have gotten it going without all of your help. Thanks Again, if I have any other questions, I'll post them. This is a great site, Thanks a Bunch!

If I were you though, I'd be careful about building another form, you've probably pulled most of your hair out already.

Hi all...


Well, I went ahead and uninstalled, and reinstalled the FP Server extensions. It still doesn't work.

Oh, and checking the event log, I see an event in the app log that the Front Page Server Extensions were upgraded. I don't know if that means I installed them, or that during the process of installing, an upgrade of some type downloads.

So, is it possible that my internet provider some how prevents this from working...GGiven that I am not 'hosting' with them...but I have a server on my cable, with redirection from CJB?
