December activity at Websites/forums - 12/6/2004 8:54:46
Just curious. Do things typically get slower for you this time of year, or faster, as to the amount of site visitors/activity?

thanks,

gail

Way slower here. I bet Mojo's sites sell stuff folks buy as Christmas gives. No?

No change in most of mine.

My hobby site tends to go through the roof over the Christmas break as people have time to sit and go through it. Doubled its visitors last year.

Knives, hobby products, baby bedding, boutique diaper bags, GPS devices (Adsense only), bracelets... these products are all way up during the holidays. Other products I sell are steady.

We can do over 4x more during the height of the season (summer), so for us it's the winter doldrums (though it's still enough to keep us hopping). As we keep a constant crew size (small), our biggest problem is coordinating what projects get put off till winter to even the work load.

Is that unique visitors or total number of visitors?

To my surprise, overall my number of visitors went down a bit in Dec. compared to November. Some days it was considerably lower and I was surprised. Income remained about the same. On the 27th, though, the numbers surged. I couldn't figure out why until I found out my site was mentioned in a column in the Detroit Free Press. Now if only I could find out how to get other newspapers to mention the site. :):)
