Expanding or pop up menu - 12/7/2004 13:42:27
I'd like to thank all of you for your help in the past. So many of you have offered help and suggestions that were very beneficial.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this question. I'm looking for the way to create expanding or pop up menus. I'm not sure if that's the best way to describe them. There is a website, http://www.dhtmlcentral.com/, that has the same type of menus that I'm looking to create.

In their header bar, when you mouse over certain titles, a menu expands below it. I would like mine to be on the left side of the page so they expand to the right, but this is exactly what I'm trying to create.

Can someone give me some direction on what to do and how to create this type of an expanding menu system?

I'm hoping there is premade code that will be available to make this easier.

Thanks,

John

Or ... you could use pure CSS menus, there is a great example here:

(view page source for the coding) or this neat one here: http://www.alistapart.com/d/horizdropdowns/horizontal2.htm

Thank you everyone. I was able to get a layout that I liked and reviewed the code and figured out how to make the menues, submenus and colors that I wanted.

I really appreciate everything all of you did. Now the only thing I need to find is an very easy way to keep menu floating on the screen (so it doesn't scroll) as you move down the web page.

Any suggestions on that one?

Thanks again.
John

Likno's AllWebMenus is software that does that. They have an example of a pop-out one on their main page
