Back office access or dynamic page editing - 3/6/2001 17:40:00
Hey, I have customers who want to edit their website live (called Back Office Access and Dynamic Page Editing). If they don't have FrontPage, can they do it through their browsers? If so, how? thanks

There may be another way, but the only way Iknow it can be done is to install a perl script that allows folks to build web pages via their browser.

I have used Newspro, a cgi script to do this. It is intended to allow multiple users to publish news to a site but has several addons that allow it to be configured to pulish almost anything from an easy to use 'back office'. It is free and there is some support at a forum which I have to say is populated by some of the rudest people I have ever come accross but also the odd helpful soul, so you can get additional info on using it there. You will find it at: http://amphibian.gagames.com/newspro/

I create news pages and other content pages based upon the database principle. Updating records and stff like that and by giving records unique ID You can return specific content on specific pagesStuart ------------------ Stuart Steele StuWeb Productions 07808254916 http://www.stuweb.co.uk

FrontPage XP, due out in a month or two, has this feature built in. It's part of a system called SharePoint.
