Now what I want is the following: I had a file on my server and I don't want anyone to access it unless they click a link on a certain page. If you only want one universal password, that's easy... if you want everybody to have their own password (or have multiple ones) you'll want something like Spooky Login http://www.outfront.net/spooky/login.htm Keep in mind that this will not keep somebody from linking to your file if they are able to get the file path to it... in other words, once they find out what the file path is, the password protection will not protect the file itself... only the page with the link. If you're on an NT server you might be able to create a new, password protected directory that will require a user name and password... but I'm not sure if that will give you what you want either...? _____________________________ In order to remove a wall you must first remove the Windows® (in reply to Xenon)

If you kept the file in the database then the only way to get to it would be to click the button..? I think that's right. (in reply to Xenon)
