A few rookie questions - 12/28/2004 9:57:47
I'm a rookie to Front Page & have a few questions:

-I've created a photo gallery in FP 2002. I would like to have the option to click on a thumbnail in the gallery and display a larger version of the picture. When I run my cursor over a thumbnail I get an pointer but nothing happens.
-Is there any way to use the file name of the pics when I create the photo gallery without going to each pic and inserting text?

weets,

Welcome to the Outfront Forums!

I hate to respond with a question, but here it is. Have you viewed the page in your browser?

In regards to titles on the images, this is the technique that I have used: http://www.theminutemanfoundation.org/Minuteman_Ball_2004.htm

Hi weets,

Welcome to the forum.

Do this:

If you used Frontpage's photo gallery, the thumbnails are made automatically. So the file names are already there.

You have a couple of options to view the photo:

1. While in pageview. Hold down the "Ctrl" button while clicking
on the thumbnail

or

2. Click preview in browser.

If you don't see it, check the status bar at the bottom of your monitor. Sometimes it will open it in a minimized state.

If you inserted the pictures without the use of the photo gallery, then check your links.

You can insert a thumbnail on your page without using the photo gallery. You might want to use a table to help control positioning or use absolute positioning.

To change a picture to a thumbnail in FP2002:

Insert photo -> Right click->Choose Auto Thumbnail

Use the steps listed above to check it.
