Xenon -> Anyone's got PHP-NUKE? I need help (12/28/2004 13:27:11)

Does anyone have PHP-NUKE installed on their website? (you know how to use it)

Giomanach -> RE: Anyone's got PHP-NUKE? I need help (12/28/2004 13:56:29)

I don't have it installed, but I know how to use.....

It comes as part of every package with Fantastico on my hosting...so I have to know how to use it

I would like to know how to:

-Make users for different purposes
eg: a group of users for downloading a certain file, another group to access the forum, etc.

-Personalize the style of the whole website without using a standard theme

-Include HTML pages (or modules) made by myself

You don't. The user system is integrated with phpBB, and therefore only allows for Moderator & Admin access. Through phpBB you can set permissions, but they are specific to the forums, not site/CMS wide.

Do a Google search for phpNuke themes, or download on of the pre-installed themes to your local machine and edit it correctly, then re-upload and install it. Instructions for these can be found at the phpNuke web site.

Use the feature to install addition modules, or, upload the page as usual, and use the linking feature to link to it.

Thanks I am trying all this out now. A few more questions:

-Where is the install modules feature and the linking feature?

-I would like to make users for different purporses (forgetting about the phpBB forum ok?). So I would like some users to sign up and those can download certain files. Other users that sign up, can only use the forum and have their account their but they cannot access these certain files I want....so how can I do that? Its more or less something like doing permission levels but with more types of users (i.e. not only administrator, moderator, registered user and guest....).

See your Modules/Addons current status and change it by Activating or Deactivating them.
New Modules copied on the /modules/ directory will be automaticaly added with Inactive status to the database when you reload this page.
If you want to remove a module just delete it from the /modules/ directory, the system will automaticaly update your database to show the changes.

As I have previously said, you don;t

Right, my question now is: how do you make a module without writing the script??!?!?

Module = PHP program/static HTML page

When you upload it to the modules directory, it will be picked up and installed automatically..and set to inactive
