Software problem in regard to publishing - 3/19/2001 22:35:00
I consider my self fairly adapt at front page but recently I have developed a problem that puzzles me. My password is continualy rejected thereby preventing me from updating my webpage.Normally, if someone had told me this I would assume that eithere it was a server problem or they do not have there password correct. I know this is not true for several reasons. I can log onto the account using ws_ftp. Secondly I am maintaining www.sawyercreek.com for my mother. And she is able to use the publish feature from her computer and connection. I have ftped in order to make some urgent updates and that works for now, put the automatic updates and other conviences associated with the publish feature have become indespensable for me. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. Aaron

Alright, I am going nuts here. I just republished www.sawyercreek.com from my mothers computer using frontpage with no problems, (so no server problems). I have deleted and reisnstalled frontpage hopeing to get a fresh start with that and it still will not let me publish the web from my end. What in the world is going on. How do I completely delete front page. I used add/delete progarms from the control panel then went to windows/program files then deleted the front page folder. But when I reinstalled it some of my toolbar customization are still there as If I didn't do anything. Even though my mother is an a couple of hours away we log on with different acsess numbers but the same password etc, could the server somehow be blocking me from publishing (they were not before so I find it hard for them to change that without a reason, and they say they arenot.). My email and everything else as well as loging onto the non frontpage server are fine.

Aaron,Sorry to inform you but this is a problem that I am not sure anyone has figured out yet. I have had the exact same problem in the past and have talked with others that have posted this problem here. All I can tell you is to try to reinstall FrontPage and see if this helps. When it was happening to me it only happened on one of several sites I was working on at the time. After reinstalling a couple of time the problem went away. Why, I don't know. Best of luck. If I can be of any help, let me know. Mark [This message has been edited by CyberGarage (edited 03-20-2001).]
