Transparent photos..... - 12/31/2004 23:13:57
I am having a little problem with some graphics. Should be an easy one for someone with a bit more knowledge of the subject... I have several photo programs. I want to take a shot of say a pencil... turn it into a transparent photo...... no background. I can do this with one of my programs but the program will not save in GIF format, only png format... png works in Netscape browser but not IE....... any quick solutions???

JB....... Thanks for the link..... BUT........
Everthing looks like its going great then I try to save something...... errors
"Warning - Couldnt load "MS Sans Serif 8" falling back to "sans 8" aborting."
Then
"Runtime Error
Program c\Program files\gimp-2.2\bin\gimp-2.2exe
abnormal program termination"

Can't seem to find anything on the GIMP site...... I'm running Windows ME ...... 384 on RAM I think......

Any thoughts????????

Thanks
Curtis

Try re-installing Gimp. Make sure your virus checker is off and any other open programs are closed.

Sometimes virus checkers can cause a bad install.

If that doesn't work then post something on the Gimp User Group forum

you can also download the free Irfanview. This will batch convert most file formats and will certainly convert a png.

Type 'Irfanview' into google and you'll find it - very easy to use.
