From what I had seen, the support was not very good. I may be wrong and will delete this if so, but my memory is pretty good.

Here's an good anecdotal test;
their 'contact us' form was broken so i sent them an email asking them if they wanted a link and superficially complementing them on their stuff.
If they don't reply, i suppose one could extrapolate that the response would be similar if they needed anything. ;-)

Hi:

Thanks for the "heads up" Summer.

To their credit the folks at ecommercetemplaces caught this thread and pointed me to the free Firefox fix. Should work better for you now.

I don't see a post on here about LaGarde StoreFront. Why? They've been around for a long time. No? :)

ecommercetemplate.com was started by Andy and Vince from Spain -- a couple of OutFront Moderators from way back. You might not be familiar with them because they're so successful that they rarely can find the time to hang out here anymore, but I have to say that I have heard nothing but positive comments about their product and their support, and I have heard many comments.

It's possible that people have developed a bad taste for storefront due to it's current design with the "phone home" features and licensing required for each deployment.

I tried it a few years back and couldn't get it to work in my hosted space due to a bad or lacking MDAC. They did, however, refund my $ without hesitation.

I was chatting with a developer from Canada last night and she couldn't say enough about ZenCart I haven't tried it yet but judging by the skill level, aptitude, and enthusiasm of the "tipster" it can't be bad.

LaGarde got greedy :) and greedy is not nice :) (IMHO)

That said, I still use their product on several sites because it's too time consuming to switch. I got in under the wire several years ago and purchased the last version (5.0) that could be used on multiple stores. At the time, the price tag (about $500 Cdn.) was quite hefty for me. I went with them because they had pulled up their socks in the support department. Now they no longer support the version I have AND they're much too 'big' business' for my needs.

So, I made the switch to ecommercetemplates and love it. I'm getting ready to buy another one later this month.

Amen, that is exactly why I dropped them. That and Bob's/teams attitude when dealing with that issue.

They will never hold a site of mine hostage from their licensing server.

Take care,

Brian

From what I hear CandyPress is going to be heading in the same direction. I guess it's back to Comersus. ;-)

I've been hearing good stuff about zencart a PHP shopping cart.

Maybe I'll start looking at some easily customizable .net carts.....Anybody got any recomendations on carts in .net (preferably vbscript.net)??
