I host my own server. I am running Windows 2000 Server and have FrontPage 2000 running on my desktop. I have multiple domains on the server. I have two domains connected to the same directory. I can log in using FrontPage with one, but when I try and log into the other, it crashes my computer.

I have removed the extensions and replaced them, I have copied the files to a new directory and redirected the domains, I have tried to repair the directory, but nothing works. Any ideas. It is strange that two domains on the same directory work differently.

Have you tried restarting IIS, or restarting the server itself?

I have restarted the server multiple times, but not IIS. Will try that and let everyone know.

Some things to check for:

1. Are they running on different IP addresses? If not, are they at least on different ports?

2. If no to #1 as in redirecting several domains to the same web, are you "hiding" the main domain name or just a simple redirect to the other domain?

3. Are you trying to open both domains at the same time?

I know you can do this; I have several domains pointing to 1 web in at least 2 situations. Just some ideas to check; hope they help.

Thanks for the input. Just FYI, the 2 domain names have been on the same server for years, with no problem. The problem with FrontPage just started a month or so ago.

Yes they are both on the same IP address on the server, and they are also on the same port. I actually have 3 other sites configured the same way, and they all work fine with FrontPage.

I am not trying to open the 2 domains at once. Only one at a time. When I try the main one, it just goes away and never comes back. When I try the alternate, i get in and can edit, recalculate hyperlinks, etc... Everything.
