Absolute URL's vs. Relative URL's - 3/22/2001 15:34:00
Hello community, It's been a long time since I have posted. Hope all is well!I was talking to some about search engine spiders and they said I should be using absolute URL's on my site, because some spiders may not follow relative URL's very well. After learning what the difference was, I can see it would not be too hard to do for my site. Question 1 - If I decide to change to absolute, Do I have to change each internal link on my site manually, or is there a way to switch all links to absolute at once. Question 2 - Am I setting myself up for problems in any way by doing this? Any input is appreciated. Thanks, Bob

No, I can't think of any "problems" but - a waste of time and not needed. All the search engine spiders can follow relative links fine.------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Never miss a good chance to shut up"

FP keeps track of links that are relative a lot easier than absolute, if you ever modify navigation, those absolute paths may not be updated
