cannot publish successfully via ftp - 1/8/2005 14:21:47
Here is my predicament: I make my clients site using frontpage and photoshop. My client gives me the ftp info i need to upload the site (his server does not have the FPSE). I try the frontpage option to publish via ftp, which doesn't work (it is forever "listing subsites in ftp://drstevensdds.com"). So i download cuteftp and precede to upload the site onto my clients server, but when i go to http://www.drstevensdds.com a 404 error message comes up. Maybe my problem is that i don't know where on his server to upload the site, but i think i have tried about every possible option. Thanks so much for your help.

It will depend what software the server is running as to which folder you need to publish to. Commonly, if it is Unix, you will place everything in the public_html folder.

If it isn't Unix/Linux let us know what it is, so maybe we can help.
