How do I move an anchor point on a path?

Thanks for any advice!

in ps6 you use the path component selection tool (little black arrow halfway down on left) select path (the nodes/anchor points appear) choose direct selection tool (click and hold your mouse the same tool - component selection tool - till the flyout menu appears and it's the hollow arrow)

click (once) on the anchor point you want to select it THEN after releasing the mouse button you can move it (the selected point turns black)

Thanks so much Dave for the speedy reply. I can now do it, with your prompting!

I did find however, that if I select the Path Selection tool 1st, then the whole path is selected, & I only wanted to move 1 anchor point.

If on the other hand I selected the Direct Selection tool 1st, then click the path, then the anchor points are not selected. I then clicked on the anchor point I wanted to move to select it, then clicked & dragged & I had success!

There are two path pointers: one is solid black and the other has a black outline. If you want to select the entire path, use the solid black. Use the black outlined one to select one or more points. To select one point double-click on the point. To select more than one hold the left mouse button down and draw circle around the set of points to be selected.
