Start Menu Taskbar in XP - 1/10/2005 15:42:05
Hello, does anyone know how to move the taskbar from vertical right of my screen to bottom horizontal, someone at work moved it and I have tried dragging it back, but that doesn't work. Can someone tell me please. Regards Northernwytch PS; If you don't, I'll put a spell on you !!

Start > Control Panel > Task Bar and Start Menu > Uncheck the "Lock taskbar" option. Then you can move it. Oh no! Not a spell!!

I have on my start up menu [XP Pro] a red colored cirle with a bar through it on a grey square. cannot click on it, doesn't show what it is when you mouse over it, nothing. I cannot I.D. it from control panel nor anything I have on my P.C. Any Clues? Rolf

You just have to keep playing with it. Continue to try to move it from every possible point on the bar; from left to right or top to bottom, whatever the case may be. Click and hold one small section at a time and eventually, you will grab hold of exactly the right spot to make the move. Good luck.

yes, tried everything and all. looks exactly like a pop-up blocker, except that the bar in the circle starts from bottom left upwards. I checked all my program icons and cannot see one like it! Thanks Jaybee quote:

Have you tried right-clicking on it to see if anything appears?
