Tosh -> Frontpage: Recommend Friend script?? (3/30/2001 20:20:00)

I need a script for my site visitors to recommend their friends to my site. Can frontpage 2000 do it?

I tried searching, there are lots of cgi script on unix, but not on NT or just frontpage. For those that i found for NT, they have lots of banner ads or sales information.

I just need a simple "recommend friend" script on NT or frontpage where visitors can recommend up to 5 friends at one time.

can someone pls help to tell me where to get such script or just send me the script.

thank you in advance.

Go to BigNoseBird.com.
Bruce's Birdcast script will work on Windows/NT servers just fine.

http://www.bignosebird.com/carchive/birdcast.shtml

As with all of his scripts, it is very easy to install.

I've already tried: http://www.bignosebird.com/carchive/birdcast.shtml

I set it up fine. when i tested it, it went thru fine, but apparently, it did not send the recommend to those emails that I submitted in the recommend form.

Maybe the ftp program I used did not ftp it correctly. I am using ftp commander 4.05 a freeware. Am i right or wrong?

Is there any other easier recommend script?

I was trying to do the same thing. Decided not to reinvent the wheel and just started using www.recommend-it.com

Works great and tracks the hits.

Thanks Mark

I have evaluated recommend-it.
I like the system and the idea behind it, but unfortunately, I dislike the recommended URL which is the code assign to you (for tracking purposes) instead of your URL.

Not many people will click on URL such as
(You are recommended to visit:

I would prefer that it indicate:
www.mysiteURL.com

I've email to them, they can't change it.
