Outlook Express issue - 1/18/2005 22:28:18
Whenever I exit out of OE or switch identities, I receive the "To free up disk space . Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take up to a few minutes" message.

Well yes I should clean up my messages, but I do not want to. I have a couple folders of 10k messgaes, and I would like to keep them. I click on the "Do not show this message again." box, then click on "Cancel" so it will not compact my messages, and it continues to show up.

Anyone have an idea what to do to correct this issue?

Thunderbird is super slow when you have well over 50k messages.

Not only that, it doesn't handle identities easy like OE does.

I'll use Thunderbird when it has as good of features as OE. It might work a bit better for people that just use 1-3 accounts, but when I manage 9+identities with 15 different e-mails, it comes down to speed/easy of use.

Eek - such a serious reply! My post was just a joke to stir you, nothing more. :)

Actually, I use Pegasus mail, have done ever since 1994 or thereabouts. Don't see any need to change now. It is still freeware.

Bobby

It's called standard practice, it will compress the messages, not delete them, it's the same with M$ Outlook.

I use Outlook 2003 as it does what I want and it comes with Office 2003.

If you want to keep the HDD space usage up, then keep ignoring it, as all it does is compress the files, not delete them.

Thunderbird asks you the same question

Dan
